YOSIA——Nan TANG

Dr. Nan Tang obtained her PhD in Molecular Pathology from University of California, San Diego (PhD advisor, Dr. Randall Johnson). She then conducted her postdoctoral research at University of California, San Francisco with Dr. Gail Martin.  She is now a principal investigator at National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing. Her laboratory is interested in understanding the mechanisms that regulate post-injury alveolar regeneration.  Her laboratory is also interested in understanding how alveolar epithelial cells perform their distinct functions in lung homeostasis and diseases. Knowledge obtained from their studies should significantly advance our understanding of respiratory disorders and congenital defects in human neonates, and provide insight into adult lung regeneration after the lung injury.
